Configure recurring and one-time WHMCS product prices

whmcs, resellers

Configure a WHMCS product's billing cycles from the price you intend to charge for the full period. Keep recurring charges, setup fees and fixed-term behavior distinct so that checkout and renewals follow the advertised offer.

01 Set the product pricing

  1. Open the product in System Settings and Products/Services, then choose Pricing.
  2. Select Free, One Time or Recurring according to the actual service agreement. A free product does not create normal renewal invoices or a Next Due Date.
  3. For recurring products, enable only the billing cycles you intend to sell. Enter the complete period price for each enabled cycle and currency.
  4. Enter a setup fee separately for each relevant cycle. Review whether the initial invoice should contain both the setup fee and the first service period.
  5. Check recurring-cycle limits, fixed-term termination and prorata settings. Leave these disabled unless they are part of the intended offer.
  6. Save and test checkout for every enabled cycle, including configurable options and addons that contribute to the total.

02 Calculate the comparison clearly

If an annual service costs 120 in the selected currency, enter the annual amount where the interface requests annual pricing. A marketing comparison of 10 per month does not mean the customer will be charged monthly. Display the actual amount payable and billing term alongside any monthly equivalent.

Review the cost of delivering a longer commitment, including licences and provider renewals, before setting a discount. Keep introductory prices and ongoing renewal prices clear in the product description and promotion configuration.

Does changing product pricing update every existing customer?

Catalogue pricing and an existing service's recurring amount are separate operational concerns. Inspect a sample existing service before assuming a product-price edit changes its next invoice. If you intend to update existing customers, use a planned pricing process and review already generated invoices.

After the first renewal cycle, compare the invoice period, service due date and recurring amount with the expected schedule. Correct the underlying service configuration instead of repeatedly adjusting individual invoices.
