Requesting a Let’s Encrypt certificate in SiteWorx

control-panels, domains-dns

Use SiteWorx’s available Let’s Encrypt integration to request a publicly trusted certificate for a hosted domain. Certificate issuance depends on domain validation, account permission and the provider enabling the plugin.

What you need before you begin

Confirm each requested hostname points to the intended server and that the website is reachable. Record any existing certificate and check restrictive CAA records or proxy rules that could interfere with validation.

01 Request a Let’s Encrypt certificate in SiteWorx

  1. Open Hosting Features > Domains > Manage and choose the domain’s shield action.
  2. Select Generate All With Let’s Encrypt when available. Review the names in the request and exclude names that you cannot validate through the supported process.
  3. Complete the request and read its result. If validation fails, correct the reported DNS or reachability issue before retrying repeatedly.
  4. Open the site directly over HTTPS and inspect the certificate’s names, issuer and expiry. Test the main domain and any www or other names the application uses.
  5. Enable the application’s HTTPS URL and redirect only after HTTPS works. Monitor renewal notifications and avoid removing validation access later.

Confirm the expected result

A fresh browser should accept the certificate without a name, chain or expiry warning. Test a real application page as well as the homepage.

Troubleshoot unexpected results

If the Let’s Encrypt action is absent, ask the provider whether the plugin and SSL permission are enabled. Renewal is automated by InterWorx, but DNS or validation changes can still cause a later failure; automatic does not mean no monitoring.

Does this fix the SiteWorx login certificate?

A website certificate covers the website endpoint. The panel on port 2443 uses the server’s separate panel certificate, so use the provider’s correct panel hostname for login.
